New version of E-ARK Specifications released

The key features of the new release include customisable E-ARK SIP creation and seamless validation against E-ARK specifications. Users can benefit from improved stability, performance, and expanded command-line options.

We are pleased to announce the publication of the Common Specifications for the Information Packages and E-ARK SIP/AIP/DIP in version v2.2.0, the Content Information Type Specifications (CITS) and guidelines in their corresponding updated versions, following handling reported issues in GitHub and changes in the layout of the front page and inclusion of an acknowledgement sheet. There has also been an update to the automated publication process. A process that is used for the publication of the Common Specifications for the Information Packages and E-ARK SIP/AIP/DIP and now also for the CITS Geospatial. The plan is that all the specifications in maintenance by the DILIS Board will become part of the automated publication process.

The updates to the information package specifications focus on updates following submitted issues and clarifications used in the language of the specifications besides layout updates in the presentation. There are release notes present in all the repositories in GitHub.

We would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who provided feedback to us in GitHub. Your contributions to this work have been crucial to moving the specifications forward for wider community adoption.

Next steps

All the published specifications are in maintenance mode where there will only be minor updates made following issues that you report to us!
