Energy-efficient cloud computing and green digital services

In the summer of 2018 the European Commission had announced to finance a study about measures to be taken to control and optimise the increasing energy consumption of ICT services, with a focus on cloud computing technologies.

A joint proposal submitted by Umweltbundesamt GmbH (Vienna, Austria), and Borderstep Institut für Innovation und Nachhaltigkeit gemeinnützige GmbH (Berlin, Germany) has been awarded.

The study is now ongoing and interested readers can follow its current actions and developments on the study’s website. The website will be in place at least until the end of the study in 2020.

Validation workshops with regard to the current findings will be held after summer 2019.
