For almost 30 years, the Creative Europe MEDIA programme has supported the European audiovisual industry by funding European films, TV series and training for professional talents in order to make the European productions more competitive and to help them travel across borders.

Films

The films funded by the MEDIA Programme have competed in the major film festivals in Europe and beyond. At the time when European citizens are asked to #stayathome to fight the spread of COVID-19, watching a movie funded by the MEDIA Programme could be the perfect moment to enjoy some of the best productions in Europe.

Here is a list of the latest film festivals where EU funded films have participated. Click on each of the festivals and discover the titles and awards!

Besides choosing your next film to watch, we also invite you to read more information on the MEDIA Programme of the European Commission!

TV series

Creative Europe MEDIA also supports European high-quality TV series broadcast in the original language across several territories. Some of the series that you can currently watch are: My Brilliant Friend, Babylon Berlin, Occupied, Trapped, and recently released Freud, among many others.

Where to find those films and series?

You can have a look in agoodmovietowatch, the human-curated and independent streaming guide that includes not only the plot and trailer but also information about the platform in which the title is available.

VoD Platforms

In addition, MEDIA supports several VOD platforms with a high number of European content in order to improve the presence, the visibility and the global audience of European audiovisual works online. Some of them are: Filmin (Spanish), NutAlone (English), Curzon (English), UnCut (French-Dutch), CineSquare (English), UniversCiné (French-Dutch), FilmoTV (French) and MUBI (English).

Videogames

Finally, if you are a big fan of videogames, we recommend two indie titles MEDIA-funded that recently made it out to the market: MUTAZIONE by Die Gute Fabrik and the Bookbound Brigade by Digital Tales.
