The exhibition displayed the results of cutting-edge research projects alongside innovative products and services. The whole spectrum of digital and ICT topics was covered. The public was able to find more than 100 exhibits ranging from digital society to transforming industry and economy, and the most recent technological advancements.

The exhibition provided participants with a stimulating environment, giving them the opportunity to find investors, buyers or business partners to make their results market-ready. The ICT 2018 exhibition included, among others, the following main areas:
- General Exhibition
The event included a major exhibition of EU-funded research and innovation projects from current and previous framework programmes. Three themes guided the visitor throughout the exhibition: Inspiring a digital society; Creating networks and technology; and Transforming industry and economy.
- International Cooperation (INCO) Village
The INCO village displayed successful international collaborations with the EU's key partners from around the world. It offered the opportunity to discover more about upcoming EU projects with South Korea, Japan, Brazil, South Africa and other international partners.
- Innovation and Start-ups Village
The village promoted EU-funded start-ups, and displayed innovative services or products that were looking for opportunities to enter the market.
- European Commission (EC) Village
The EC village provided thorough information about EU flagship initiatives on telecom, research and innovation, open science and more.
- Austrian Village
The village hosted an exhibition with highlights from the Austrian research community, covering a broad range of ICT applications in economy and society.
