Today’s critical infrastructures have become more and more complex and interconnected, and this evolution process will continue. On the other hand, the increasing complex interrelation among such critical systems creates new security vulnerabilities, which can be exploited by malicious users to compromise sensitive data, other systems or the whole network with a tremendous impact on the economy and the society.

The CONNECT University brought together European Commission and external experts working on strengthening cybersecurity in critical infrastructures to discuss this topic. The debate mainly focused on examples from the energy, the financial services and the transport sectors of our economy. In addition, the European Commission experts briefly presented the latest EU’s policy and research initiatives in the field of cybersecurity in critical infrastructures.

The event was available to the public via web-streaming.
