For the further development of Outermost Regions, it is essential for them to connect with mainland Europe, their neighbours and the rest of the world through appropriate and reliable electronic communications networks, ensuring that their citizens and businesses can benefit from digital services.

Obstacles, however, remain. These include dependence on undersea cables, the extra costs of digital infrastructure roll-out and the limited size of local markets and projects. These factors can render projects more costly and private investment less attractive.

This event is open to members of the European Broadband Competence Offices Network. The agenda will be shared with members directly.
