Stepping up the fight against online piracy of sport and other live events

The conference follows up the recent adoption by the Commission of the Recommendation on combatting piracy of live events, and brings together national authorities, stakeholders and academics.

The first day of the conference will give the occasion to discuss the main challenges and remedies against online piracy of live events, as well as the recent developments regarding online piracy affecting other types of content. 

The second day of the conference will be dedicated to the implementation of the Recommendation. The EUIPO Observatory of IPR infringements will launch the network of public authorities, which has been set up by the Recommendation as way to strengthen cooperation between Member States. Also on this day, Member States and stakeholders will be invited to discuss practical aspects of the data collection for monitoring the implementation of the Recommendation, following the publication by the Commission of the Key Performance Indicators
