This meeting aimed to further promote and revisit the existing cooperation between smart communities projects funded by the EU and relevant EU initiatives across sectors and it brought together 17 project representatives.
Cristina Martinez (European Commission, Technologies for Smart Communities Unit, DG CNECT) welcomed the participants and set the Commission expectations for the meeting. This was followed by a presentation by the coordination actions: DS4SSCC, Go LI.EU and digiNEB.eu
After this, each project shared their slides, presenting their views on three specific topics:
- Synergies and links between websites and interactive platforms that are either specifically targeted to or have a strong component on the digital transformation at local or regional level. How to make the Living-in.eu platform the information and communication hub?
- Efforts on interoperability and standardisation, with a focus on Minimum Interoperability Mechanisms Plus (MIMs Plus) .
- Sharing of data and data sets to build up the Data Space for Smart and Sustainable Cities and Communities.
The first two points build upon the first cluster meeting while the third point intends to complement the efforts that the preparatory action for the data space, DS4SSCC , is doing via its Stakeholders forum.
The meeting ended with a sum up by the three rapporteurs of the main conclusions of the discussions on the 3 topics and reflections on the way forward.
The rapporteurs have prepared a report on each topic, based on all the 17 presentations.
