Audiovisual and Media Services Directive (AVMSD) - Study on Advertising Rules

The European Commission (DG CONNECT) has commissioned a number of studies to prepare the revision of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD).

The findings of the present study have been used to support the evaluation of the impact of different policy options to amend the AVMSD in the field of audiovisual commercial communications.

The assessment covers the impact on different groups of stakeholders (e.g. citizens/consumers, TV broadcasters, on-demand service providers, video-sharing platforms, independent audiovisual content producers, and other industries, audiovisual regulatory bodies).

The study identifies a number of costs and cost savings as well as potential economic and social impacts.
