Although traditional linear TV over broadcast networks still dominates audiovisual (AV) consumption today, this is changing with fixed and wireless broadband playing a growing role in delivering and distributing video content. New business models are emerging for LTE broadcasting, both as a substitute for, and a complement to, traditional broadcast networks. However, there is great uncertainty about the prospects and impact of these developments. This seminar will focus on the mid to long-term impacts arising from convergence of wireless broadband and broadcasting in Europe and internationally, the implications of the emergence of new business models for delivery of AV services, and the challenges for spectrum policy.
