European Data Market Study 2021-2023

The European Commission has launched a call for tenders to continue offering a meaningful and comprehensive understanding of the main characteristics of the EU data economy.

The purpose of this call for tenders (CNECT/LUX/2020/OP/0027 European Data Market Study 2021-2023 - VIGIE 2020-0655) is to update and maintain the already developed EU data market monitoring tool, providing a set of descriptive indicators with the primary objective of measuring growth and job creation related to the data economy with special attention to the size and value of the EU data market and data economy, the number of data professionals, the number of data companies and the revenues created by them.

Baseline information is to be provided and validated, then monitored and reported on. In addition, activities will be dedicated to providing stories about various aspects of the European data market and the common European data spaces, including quantitative facts and figures not yet covered by the indicators of the data market monitoring tool. Finally, activities on continuing the development and mapping of the community of data-related stakeholders across Europe will have to be further supported.

The factual evidence resulting from the data market monitoring tool, the quantified stories and the landscaping of the community of data-related stakeholders are to support the Digital Single Market and data strategy policies of the European Commission.

The maximum amount allocated to the study is EUR 350 000.

Economic operators interested in this call are invited to submit a tender via the electronic submission system (e-Submission) available from the TED e-Tendering website.

The closing date of the call is 31 August 2020 at 16:00 CET.
