Joining Forces for Blockchain Standardisation

This webinar gave an overview of standardisation activities related to blockchain and distributed ledger technologies worldwide. High level standardisation experts discussed cohesion possibilities and liaison opportunities.

The "Joining Forces for Blockchain standardisation" webinar focused on the following topics: 

  • Identity, 
  • Interoperability,
  • Governance, 
  • Smart Contracts.  

A closing panel of distinguished experts from industry and standardisation organisations discussed how to better structure cooperation between the different stakeholders and standardisation bodies in order to maximise synergies and resources, and minimise fragmentation risks. 

The Webinar has been opened by Pēteris Zilgalvis, European Commission, DG CONNECT, Head of Unit Digital Innovation & Blockchain and involved speakers from:

  • CEN/CENELEC JTC 19,
  • ETSI ISG PDL,
  • IEEE,
  • INATBA,
  • ISO TC307,
  • ITU-T,
  • OASIS,
  • other entitities and independent experts working with blockchain standardisation and technical specifications.

A closing panel of distinguished experts from industry and standardisation organisations discussed how to better structure cooperation between the different stakeholders and standardisation bodies in order to maximise synergies and resources, and minimise fragmentation risks.

The webinar brought together more than 400 experts working with blockchain standardisation from all over the world. Regions actively participating: Europe, North America, South America, and Asia. Though, no registrations from mainland China (except speakers). No registrations from Africa.
