New version of European Interoperability Reference Architecture available

The European Commission has released a new version of the European Interoperability Reference Architecture (EIRA©). The EIRA© is a content model that defines the most important building blocks required for the creation of interoperable eGovernment systems. It provides a common terminology for IT architects and facilitates the development of digital public services across borders and sectors.

Related release: Cartography Tool

Together with the new EIRA©, the European Commission recently released an updated version of the Cartography Tool. This is a tool for modelling IT solutions based on the EIRA© structure. Both the EIRA© and the Cartography Tool support interoperability and the reuse of IT solutions by public administrations, thus accelerating the delivery of public services in a cost-effective manner.
