Feedback on the draft Implementing Act on High Value Datasets

The Commission has launched a call for feedback on the draft Implementing Act on High Value Datasets.

Under the Open Data Directive, the European Commission will adopt an Implementing Act regarding High Value Datasets (HVDs) and spell-out the commitment of public sector organisations to make such content available given the potential socio-economic and environmental benefits to be accrued.

The Open Data Directive currently defines six categories of HVDs: geospatial, earth observation and environment, meteorological, statistics, companies and company ownership, mobility. In time, the Commission may extend this initial thematic range if necessary to reflect technological and market developments.

In this context, the Commission has launched a call for feedback on the draft act which will be taken into account for finalising this initiative.  Feedback can be provided until 21 June 2022.
