European Week of Active and Healthy Ageing 2022

The European Week of Active and Healthy Ageing (EWAHA) brings together partners from around Europe, who have a stake in promoting and supporting healthy ageing and grasp the opportunities of Europe’s ageing population in our digital world.

AAL Programme - EWAHA 2022

After 2 successful on-line editions, the third edition of the European Week of active and healthy ageing is taking place in Gdansk, Poland, between 18 and 20 October.  The event builds on 10 years of legacy of the Commission supported Active and Assisted Living  Programme (AAL).

The European Week of Active & Healthy Ageing brings together partners from around Europe, who have a stake in promoting & supporting healthy ageing and grasp the opportunities of Europe’s ageing population in our digital world.

Marco Marsella (European Commission, DG Connect) welcomed the audience at the opening ceremony in the European Solidarity Centre in Gdansk.

The event gathers AAL key projects and stakeholders representatives, that respond to the challenge of translating the potential of rapidly evolving technologies into supporting solutions for Ageing-well in our digital world. Digital technologies and data are transforming our society and the health and care sector will not be an exception. The ambition is to harness the power of health data and digital innovation to ensure that Europe will remain a global leader in tomorrow's people-powered health and social care.

Today the AAL programme has become a recognised brand in Europe. It plays an important role in in leveraging the digital transformation for Ageing well and translating the potential of digital technologies and data into tangible impact for Europeans. And, more important, it has created a unique active network of experts and stakeholders, who are sharing knowledge and showcasing innovation on active and healthy ageing.

The European Commission is committed to continue supporting this drive, and make sure that digital innovation for active and healthy ageing makes a difference in Europeans' lives.
