European Network for Women in Digital

Commissioner Mariya Gabriel launched the European Network for Women in Digital. This network aims to promote greater participation of girls and women in digital studies and careers across the EU.

The European Commission is working towards greater involvement of women in the tech sector as a means to boost the economy and  promote inclusion in the digital sector. A series of actions are being implemented to make gender balance a reality in the tech world. The European Network for Women in Digital will be a tool to  promote coordination  of existing initiatives by bringing together organisations  who can share ideas and experiences to create a greater impact in building a digital sector that is geared toward and profits from girls and women too.

The main objectives of the platform are :

  • Amplify efforts to close the digital gender divide;
  • Champion diversity in digital-related projects, events, networks and media;
  • Promote women in digital as the norm rather than the exception; and
  •  Harness the power of partnership to achieve all the foregoing.

Organisations interested  in joing this united effort are welcome to sign up on the networking platform.

This platform was launched at the Digital4Her conference, hosted by the European Commission in Brussels on 19 June. Read more on the women in digital strategy and follow us on twitter and facebook
