Concertation and Consultation Workshop on Micro-Nano-Bio Convergence Systems

  • EVENT
  • Publikace 03 Březen 2016

MNBS 2016 sessions will give emphasis to the successful transition from proven micro-nano-bio technologies and systems to fabricating competitive, validated and cost-effective products that can be used in real-life applications. The programme will include (poster) presentations on FP7 & H2020 projects, invited speaker sessions, bringing smart system integration and converging micro-nano-bio-ICT technologies and solutions providers close to business and end-users, as well as panel discussions on funding opportunities, future topics and cross-collaborations.

This year’s 2-day concertation and consultation workshop of European Union (EU) funded projects on Micro-Nano-Bio convergence systems (MNBS) will be jointly organised with the ISOCS-MiNaB-ICT event "Sensing for Smart Anything Everywhere: Materials, Technologies, Applications".  It is an excellent opportunity to:

  • Share research & development results and innovative solutions from EU-funded projects and other initiatives in Europe.
  • Identify synergies and possible collaborations to tackle critical issues covering the full value chain from R&D to Innovation and exploitation.
  • Meet with key representatives from industry, research, public authorities and the European Commission as well as with end-users from the application areas, such as health professionals and other actors implementing MNBS solutions.
  • Take on an active role in defining priorities and roadmaps for future research including for the current EU programme for research and innovation, Horizon 2020.

Projects Research & Innovation Sessions

The focus will be on the application of MNBS in the fields of Bio-medicine and Health together with Smart Agriculture, Food and Environment, through two separate project innovation sessions.  These sessions will give the opportunity to projects funded by the EU to present their approach to and experience with technology translation and innovation by enabling such fields.

There will be a poster and demonstrator exhibition throughout the joint event for all to appreciate.

Additional Sessions

Additional sessions will address the innovation supply chain and transitioning to the real-world by implementing the technologies efficiently, thus tackling issues of rapid technology transitions, low-cost prototype manufacturing and uniquely-targeted technology adaptations presented by new requirements, e.g. users' needs, technology assessment, standards, interoperability, manufacturing, costs, market and real life implementation.

Finally, future challenges of MNBS, together with funding opportunities from the EU in H2020, new areas of application of MNBS technologies and cross-sections with MiNaB-ICT, will be presented and discussed.

Abstract Submission Deadline: March 31, 2016
