European Film Forum goes to MIPCOM 2017

The next European Film Forum will take place during the global TV market at MIPCOM (Cannes) on 18 October 2017 (from 10:00-11:30) and will take a forward look into how the MEDIA programme could best support beyond 2020 the TV sector in a changing landscape.Follow the event live via webstreaming on this page, see link below.

A panel discussion will address key issues of the European TV industry, such as financing, connecting content and audiences.

TV content is thriving, with high levels of creativity and quality, growing international audiences and production costs that match and sometimes surpass those of cinema. Yet digital natives have different expectations and new formats are emerging such as web-series, mobile first content and interactive content where TV and online content are combined. Broadcasters remain crucial for production, but global Video-On-Demand players are also investing in content.

Against this background, how should the future MEDIA programme pursue its goals of increasing cross-border circulation in Europe and reaching audiences? This European Film Forum will be an opportunity to look at these questions from the perspective of TV support.
