Cannes unfolds its carpet to European audiovisual industry

The 77th edition of Cannes Film Festival and its Marché du Film will celebrate European audiovisual works from 14 to 25 May 2024.

Cannes unfolds its carpet to European audiovisual industry

Cannes’s Film Festival and Marché du Film are a yearly milestone for European film lovers and industry professionals. While audiences will be able to enjoy a full program of live screenings and premieres, professionals gather to network, promote their activity, and make business deals.

The EU presence at the Marché du Film is guaranteed by the encounter of European Commission representatives with the industry, notably through a visit to the highly innovative section Cannes Next, and by the Creative Europe MEDIA Pavilion.

Creative Europe MEDIA stand

The Creative Europe MEDIA programme sets up stands at the major international trade fairs for film and audiovisual content in Europe, as an essential part of its support to the promotion of European works. The stand facilitates the access of European professionals to these markets, offering participants to hold their meetings in the stand premises, business-to-business exchanges, and the knowledge-sharing that comes with the immersion amongst fellow professionals. Following a call for interest, 272 professionals from 183 companies representing 28 countries have been selected.

Professionals with a market accreditation are welcome to visit the MEDIA Pavilion (Village International Riviera, Pavilion 123) to find information about the MEDIA programme and its funding opportunities from May 14 to 22 May, from 9h to 7h. Additionally, the following activities are open without prior registration, on a first come first served basis.

  • Showcase Breakfast “Writing European” on Sunday 19 May, 9h30-10h15. Discover innovative projects in the TV series genre with Full Moon Creative Lab and War Room Content. Speakers Claudia Droc and Emilie Blezat will share insights into European storytelling.
