Workshop of European Digital Innovation Hubs: a pragmatic approach to State Aid

This workshop held on March 14th, presented how European Digital Innovation Hubs pass on state aid to the final beneficiaries, and introduce pragmatic solutions and good practices in complying with State Aid regime.

Complying with State Aid regimes is one of the frequently asked questions and clarifications. The webinar presented an overview of the State Aid mechanisms as well as how specific countries have organized national services and support to EDIHs to help them in State Aid compliance. The pragmatic approach starts with identifying the operations that need to comply with State Aid regimes, that is both the de minimis as well as the newly adopted GBER regulations, and to seek legal advice as well as support from the national State Aid coordinators. In advance of the workshop, EDIHs were invited to contribute with their own view and ideas on how they tackle compliance to State Aid. The webinar also presented the support by the Digital Transformation Accelerator in recording and reporting aids for various services.
