France: 3.8–4.2 GHz spectrum opened for industrial 5G private networks

France, 19 December 2025 – France’s telecoms regulator has opened a dedicated portal for awarding spectrum in the 3.8–4.2 GHz band for private 5G networks, with licences valid for up to ten years. The move follows a public consultation and sets out the technical conditions for professional high-speed mobile networks.

The initiative targets vertical sectors including industry, logistics, energy, healthcare and smart cities seeking to deploy private 5G networks to improve operations, efficiency and competitiveness. Anne Le Henanff, Minister for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Affairs, highlighted that permanent spectrum allocation would support companies in optimising production. Arcep President Laure de La Raudière emphasised the role of the regulatory framework in addressing industry-specific connectivity needs and fostering innovation.
