Ensuring Legitimacy through Better Regulation

In this knowledge exchange seminar, European Commission First Vice President Frans Timmermans will present his views on the objectives and ambitions related to better regulation, followed by an interactive debate with academic experts and the audience discussing the implications and underlying assumptions of smart regulation. Linda Senden, professor of EU law at Utrecht University and member of the CoP Steering Committee, will give a pitch on the role and responsibility of private actors in the better law-making.

The Utrecht University is organising a Knowledge exchange seminar with Mr Frans Timmermans, First Vice President of the European Commission, as keynote speaker. The event aims at adressing the institutional, public policy and normative aspects of the Better Regulation programme. 

Four scholars from Utrecht University's interdisciplinary research programme "Institutions for Society" will present their takes from different perspectives.
