Meet the Pioneers at the Ageing Summit: REAAL, a platform to integrate active ageing solutions

The EU-funded project REAAL fosters open platforms that enable the large scale roll-out of applications for active and independent living.

The exhibit will demonstrate  applications either as live demos (running locally or remotely) or as videos in order for the visitors to have a good impression of the benefits of building on top of open platforms.

A preliminary selection of applications to be shown in the exhibition is:

  • Remote health monitoring: Several sensors to monitor weight, blood pressure, activity will be available to be used by visitors and results will be visualized in a personal health record.
  • Welfare service network: Access to different services related to healthcare information, medication adherence, social activities and agenda for the elderly through a variety of devices, for instance, laptop, tablet and smartphone.
  • Help when outdoor: Visitors will be able to try the navigation app in the smartphone as well as the backend app to monitor the localization of the user in real time.
  • Safety at home: Sensors provide data for monitoring daily activities at home in order to recognize risky situations (falls, anomalies, etc.) and alert relatives and caregivers.
  • Comfort services: Three categories of services are offered and can be accessed through different devices: (1) leasing, (2) operation, security and service and (3) communication and organization.
