Films on the Move: bringing European audiovisual works closer to citizens

The MEDIA strand of Creative Europe aims to support audience development by connecting European audiovisual works with their audiences through all distribution channels. To this end, MEDIA launches a yearly call for proposals, Films on the Move, to promote the circulation of non-national audiovisual works across the EU.

Sales agents and distributors are supported in their joint pan-European promotion strategies for distribution of films outside their country of origin in cinema theatres primarily, but also instreaming platforms. The focus of the distribution projects is on emerging talents and the goal is to enlarge the audience for European works.

Following the 2022 calls for proposals, 30 films have been selected and will be available in the territories indicated in the list below. Please note that distribution is not limited to the mentioned territories and could be further expanded.
