The first Commission workshop gathering national spectrum regulators, industry and research to discuss spectrum challenges for 5G took place on 13th November 2014. The debates focused on usage aspects as well as technical and regulatory needs for 5G spectrum.
In view of a common vision, there is also an international collaboration aspect to ensure a global convergence, also in the context of the approaching WRC-15 and beyond. Hence, speakers from ITU region 2 (the USA) and region 3 (Republic of Korea) were invited to provide the early perspective from their side of the world, and to participate in the panel discussion ending the morning session. All interested parties and stakeholders were invited to attend the workshop.
