Standards meet the Future - World Standards Day Celebration

This event is organised by the European Standardization Organizations (CEN, CENELEC, ETSI), the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) in the frame of World Standards Day (#WSD2018) and the 25th anniversary of the European Single Market. Statements, presentations and various panel discussions will offer participants the opportunity to engage with diverse stakeholders on the role of standardization in support to the Digital Single Market and the European Single Market.

During the opening session of the event, Gerard De Graaf, Director for the Digital Single Market in Directorate-General "Communications Networks, Content and Technology" will give a keynote speech. He will outline the importance of ICT standardisation for the Digital Single Market and how we need standards to be fit for the future and evolve in a fast-changing world where technologies become cross-sectorial and global. on the contribution of standardization to the Single Market.
