The 2011 seminar was organised by the Academy of European Law (ERA) in association with the European Commission, Information Society and Media Directorate-General. Following the adoption of the new EU telecoms rules in 2009 and other important complementary harmonisation measures in 2010 and 2011, the seminar focused on the role of the national judiciary in implementing the revised regulatory framework in electronic communications, with particular attention to some specific issues concerning the appeal procedure against decisions adopted by NRAs. The seminar mainly focused on: the impact of the revised telecoms rules and other harmonisation measures taken recently in view of the European Digital Agenda; the national judiciaries' role in achieving a truly Single Market by further improving consistency in the regulation of the telecoms sector; the recent developments in the jurisdiction both at national and European level.
