This interoperable ecosystem will enable the deployment and operation of IoT based solutions and services. Purpose: To support and extend independent living of older adults.
Through this project, the EU is responding to real needs of older adults, caregivers, service providers and public authorities.
The project experts will reuse underlying open and proprietary IoT platforms, technologies and standards. They will integrate new tools, methods and APIs needed to provide interoperability across these heterogeneous IoT platforms.
The project will also assess the socio-economic impact, and evaluate and demonstrate the benefits of IoT-based smart living environments:
- on the quality of life and autonomy of older citizens,
- on the sustainability of the health and social care systems.
The aim is to demonstrate that the built IoT ecosystems can integrate and be interoperable with existing systems. This can validate new business, financial and organizational models for care delivery.
