A technical paper will be presented by Katia Paglé and Angelos Amditis from the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems, Greece at the ITS and Smart Cities 2014 Conference on 20 November 2014 8:45-10:30 at the Session on ITS Policy and Applications.

Katia Paglé and Angelos Amditis from the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), Greece, will present their technical paper on "Application of Collaborative and Elastic Transport Solutions in Greece."

They will present the new concept of elastic mobility describing the case of Athens and Trikala cities.  The study on these cities was carried out by ICCS, INFOTRIP, COSMOTE and eTRIKALA as part of the FP7 EU funded TEAM project (Tomorrows Elastic Adaptive Mobility), a large scale integrated project for energy-efficient and sustainable mobility.

TEAM is developing systems for participants in transportation networks, which help them to behave better – by explicitly taking into account the needs and constraints of other participants and the network itself. With this objective, TEAM implements a set of applications aiming at improving safety, mobility and efficiency of transport, while at the same time decreasing the environmental load from road transport. The TEAM applications to be implemented in the cities of Athens and Trikala were selected to make infrastructures flexible and adaptable to the needs of the cities and the citizens. Interactions between all participants, users' needs and decisions as well as orchestration of different alternatives are key concepts.
