Learn about eIDAS

The eIDAS knowledge and learning programme provides information and assistance for businesses on the use of electronic identification (eID) and trust services.

eIDAS interactive tool

The eIDAS interactive tool provides an opportunity for business to test out electronic identification (eID) and trust services in a simulated environment. It aims to show the user the benefits of using the eIDAS solutions through real life business applications in different sectors.

Should you experience any technical problems whilst using the tool, please contact us on the following email address: CNECT-H4@ec.europa.eu

Disclaimer: The scenarios used in this tool are fictitious; any similarities to real life people or business are purely coincidental. The simulations used to represent electronic identification (eID) and trust service solutions have been chosen to best explain the benefits and use of these solutions to the user in a simulated environment; any similarities to existing solutions on the market is purely coincidental. In some cases (such as eID), the simulations are based on future scenarios where the possibility of implementing the solution depends on specific aspects, such as the notification of national eID schemes to the European Commission and the country’s decision to open their national scheme to the private sector.

eIDAS knowledge and learning programme

The eIDAS knowledge and learning programme consists of a series of webinars and supporting reading material.

The webinars focus on an introduction to the eIDAS Regulation and on the main eID and trust service solutions (e.g. eSignatures, eSeals, eTimestamps, website authentication certificates and electronic registered delivery services). In later webinars, discussions focused on the use of eIDAS solutions in different sectors, providing real life examples and experiences from representatives of European businesses.

The webinars can be seen below:

Webinar 1: Using eIDAS for SME business

Description: This webinar aimed to present the resources that have been developed on the eIDAS for SMEs web page so that multipliers, such as business associations and chambers of Commerce, and service providers can use and share them among their networks.

Participants were shown the eIDAS interactive tool, which allows users to test eID and trust service solutions in a simulated environment. Participants were also shown other SME-focused material on eID and trust services such as infographics, videos, checklists and a guidebook. The aim was to help participants to share and use these resources with their contacts and potential clients and to communicate the benefits that eID and trust service solutions can bring to European businesses.
