eIDAS knowledge and learning programme

The eIDAS knowledge and learning programme consists of a series of webinars and supporting reading material.

The webinars focused on an introduction to the eIDAS Regulation and on the main eID and trust service solutions (e.g. eSignatures, eSeals, eTimestamps, website authentication certificates and electronic registered delivery services). In later webinars, discussions focused on the use of eIDAS solutions in different sectors, providing real life examples and experiences from representatives of European businesses.

Webinar 1: Using eIDAS for SME business

Description: This webinar aimed to present the resources that have been developed on the eIDAS for SMEs web page so that multipliers, such as business associations and chambers of Commerce, and service providers can use and share them among their networks.

Participants were shown the eIDAS interactive tool, which allows users to test eID and trust service solutions in a simulated environment. Participants were also shown other SME-focused material on eID and trust services such as infographics, videos, checklists and a guidebook. The aim was to help participants to share and use these resources with their contacts and potential clients and to communicate the benefits that eID and trust service solutions can bring to European businesses.

Webinar 2: How electronic identification (eID) can benefit SME businesses

Description: This webinar focused on giving a general introduction to the eIDAS Regulation and eID and trust service solutions. It highlighted the business benefits of using eID.

The latter part of the webinar focused on eID and how it can be introduced into business processes. An example of the successful implementation of an eID system was also presented.

Webinar 3: How trust services can benefit SME businesses

Description: This webinar focused on each of the trust services (eSignature, Electronic Registered Delivery Service (ERDS), eSeal, eTimestamp and website authentication solutions) in more detail, highlighting the individual business benefits of each of them.

The latter part of the webinar focused on trust services and how they can be introduced into business processes. An example of the successful implementation of a trust service solution was also presented.
