The Forum is one of the most important events in Europe on cybersecurity gathering European cybersecurity professionals and stakeholders to discuss latest developments in the field and exchange views. Executive Vice-President Vestager has participated in an on-stage interview today, in which she highlighted EU actions aimed enhancing trust in technology and resilient ICT supply chains in the current geopolitical security context. Vice-President Schinas will deliver the closing speech of the Forum tomorrow, focusing on cybersecurity as an essential component of our way of life, online as much as offline, and the need to tackle the physical and digital security threats in a seamless way as part of the European Security Union.

Discussions at the Forum will also centre around the EU legislative initiatives that have been finalised and agreed by the co-legislators in the past months, including among others the new rules on cybersecurity of network and information systems (NIS2 Directive), the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act, as well as the Commission proposals for a trusted and secure Digital Identity and measures for a fair and innovative data economy (Data Act). For the first time, the European Cybersecurity Competence Network and Centre that was set up to implement relevant parts of the Digital Europe Programme and Horizon Europe is hosted under the EU Pavilion in Lille.
